How the book is taught at Emory, and what is available to other teachers.
Copyright Law in the Age of AI is written to be taught from. It can carry a full semester on its own, or a chapter at a time alongside another casebook. Chapters are self-contained enough to assign individually, and every chapter has a permanent address on this site, so a reading assignment can be a link.
The Fall 2026 course
The book is the required text for Copyright Law at Emory University School of Law, taught in 26 classes across the fall semester.
Teacher’s manual and class outlines
A teacher’s manual and per-chapter teaching outlines are available to those teaching copyright law courses. They are not posted here. To request them, email matthewsag@gmail.com with the subject line “Copyright Law in the Age of AI — teacher’s manual”, and say where and what you teach.
Using the book in your own course
Nothing is required. The book is free to assign in whole or in part. If you do adopt it, an email saying so is welcome; it helps to know where the book is being used, and it means you can be told when a new edition is published.
The table of cases and the detailed contents are the quickest ways to find whether a particular decision or topic is covered.
